How many calories in a toffee apple
A toffee apple has about 220 kcal. About 95 of that is the apple, the other 125 or so is the toffee shell.
Portion
To burn it off

A toffee apple is an apple in a shell of hard red toffee. That shell is boiled sugar, so the whole thing is 55 g of carbs and no fat.
A medium apple on its own is 95 kcal and 25 g of carbs. So the shell adds about 125 kcal and 30 g of sugar, seven or eight teaspoons.
At 220 it is lighter than a caramel apple at 290. Caramel is made with butter and cream; the toffee for apples usually is not.
In the UK it is a Halloween and Bonfire Night thing, bought at the fair or made at home on a baking tray. In the US the caramel apple is the more common one.
Tips
- 1Pick a smaller apple. The shell is roughly the same thickness either way, so you lose apple, not toffee.
- 2Share one. The first few bites through the shell are the best part anyway.
- 3Making them at home? One thin dip is enough. A second coat is more sugar and a harder bite.
