How many calories in a cappuccino
A regular cappuccino has 110 kcal, with 6 g of protein, 9 g of carbs and 6 g of fat, and nearly all of it comes from the milk.
Portion
To burn it off

The espresso is about 3 kcal. Nearly everything you count in a cappuccino is the milk, and the foam on top.
A regular one is 110 kcal with 6 g of protein. Oat milk makes it 120 but halves the protein to 3 g, and a large one from a chain is 180.
Two a day is 220, which is fine if you know it's there. Add a syrup and that's another story.
Tips
- 1Order the regular rather than the large, it's the same coffee with 70 kcal less milk.
- 2Skip the syrup and add a dusting of cinnamon or cocoa.
- 3Torn between a cappuccino and a latte? The cappuccino is 40 kcal lighter for the same shot of coffee.
Where it comes from
The name comes from the Capuchin friars, an order founded in 1529 whose brown habits had a long pointed hood, a cappuccio. In 18th century Vienna, coffee with whipped cream was called a Kapuziner because its colour matched those robes. When espresso machines spread through Italy in the early 1900s, the drink became espresso with milk and kept the friars' name in Italian.

Questions
Is oat milk lower in a cappuccino?
Not really. With oat milk it's about 120 kcal, against 110 with cow's milk.
Is a flat white lower than a cappuccino?
Usually a bit, because it's a smaller cup with less milk.
Cappuccino or latte, which has fewer calories?
The cappuccino. A regular one is 110 kcal against 150 for a regular latte, because a latte has more milk and a cappuccino more foam.
How much protein is in a cappuccino?
About 6 g in a regular one with cow's milk.
How many calories in a cappuccino with skimmed milk?
Fewer than the 110 of a regular one, because almost all the calories are in the milk. Skimmed milk foams well too, so it looks just the same.
Does a decaf cappuccino have the same calories?
Yes. Taking the caffeine out changes nothing you'd count, the coffee is about 3 kcal either way. It's still the milk, so 110 for a regular one.
