How many calories in lemonade
A 330 ml can of full sugar lemonade has about 130 kcal, all of it from sugar.
Portion
To burn it off

Fizzy lemonade is sparkling water, sugar and a bit of lemon. The calories are the sugar, 33 g in a can, and there's no protein or fat at all.
That puts it close to a can of cola at 139. Proper cloudy lemonade from a café is in the same ballpark, sometimes more, because it's often a bigger glass.
A shandy at the pub is half lemonade, so the lemonade half of a pint adds a fair bit on top of the beer.
Tips
- 1Go for the diet or zero version, it's close to nothing.
- 2Make your own with sparkling water, lots of lemon and a spoon of sugar or less.
- 3Order a lime and soda in the pub instead, it's just as fresh.
Where it comes from
One of the oldest lemon drinks comes from medieval Egypt. By around 1100, Jewish traders in Cairo were selling and exporting a bottled sweetened lemon juice called qatarmizat. In 1676 Paris had a Compagnie de Limonadiers, whose vendors carried tanks of lemonade on their backs and poured cups for people in the street. The fizzy kind came much later.
