How many calories in a kiwi
One kiwi has 42 kcal, almost all of it from carbs.
Portion
To burn it off

A kiwi is small, mostly water and natural sugar, with plenty of fibre in those little black seeds.
One is 42 kcal and two are 84. Most people have them in pairs, because one never feels like enough.
Cut it in half and scoop it out with a teaspoon. It's the easiest fruit there is for a desk lunch.
Tips
Where it comes from
Kiwi is not from New Zealand but from China, where it was called mihoutao, macaque fruit, because monkeys love it. In 1904 Isabel Fraser, a headmistress from Wanganui, brought seeds home from the Yangtze Valley. New Zealanders called it Chinese gooseberry until 1959, when exporters renamed it kiwifruit after the national bird, partly because US tariffs on melons ruled out the name melonette.
