To burn it off

A carrot is mostly water with a bit of natural sugar and fibre. Crunchy, sweet and very light.
A medium one is 25 kcal. You could eat four and still be at 100.
Raw, roasted or in a Sunday dinner, it's the extras that change the number, not the carrot.
Tips
Where it comes from
The carrot we eat was domesticated from the wild carrot in Central Asia around the year 1000, and the early ones were purple or yellow. By the 1200s carrots were grown in China and northwestern Europe. Orange carrots came later, bred in Western Europe, with Dutch growers playing a big part. The story that they did it to honour William of Orange is popular, but there is no proof of it.
