How many calories in an Aperol spritz
An Aperol spritz has 125 kcal a glass.
Portion
To burn it off

A spritz is prosecco, Aperol and a splash of soda over ice. The calories come from the alcohol in both and the sugar in the Aperol.
125 kcal a glass is about the same as a glass of wine. The soda and ice make it last longer, which is the nice part.
Two spritzes on a terrace is 250. Summer can stay.
Tips
- 1Ask for extra soda, it's lighter and still tastes like a spritz.
- 2Sip it slowly, the ice is on your side.
- 3Switch to sparkling water with a slice of orange for round three.
Where it comes from
Aperol was created in 1919 by the Barbieri family in Padua, Italy, and its name comes from apero, French slang for an aperitif. Spritz comes from the German word for a splash. Late in the 20th century, beach bars on the Venetian coast started putting Aperol in their spritzes, served over ice in a big wine glass, and the drink spread across the region and then all of Italy.
